Your Identity is yours, and yours alone

As Machiavellian Governments world wide seek to extend their control into a digital world via investing in digital identity ecosystems; people must seek to protect their digital identify from mass surveillance , exploitation and theft via possession of a digital Self Sovereign Identity. Identity has its origins from the Latin word identitās : which means the condition of being oneself or itself, and not another.

It's a Human Right
Privacy is a fundamental human right recognized in the UN Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and in many other international and regional treaties.

An Entity is what "one" is, who we are, as carbon based entities we can have many identities to suite various social interactions. Numbers or bits of papers are not one's identity these are Identity "attributes"; which can be attached to one's Identity nothing more. This conceptual model underpins the essential data modeling and all usage within any information systems. There is a clear need to control the linkage or otherwise between, an entity (subject) and the range of Identities and identity attributes.

Self-Sovereign Identity

User-centric designs turned centralized identities into interoperable federated identities with centralized control, while also respecting some level of user consent about how to share an identity (and with whom). It was an important step toward true user control of identity, but just a step. To take the next step required user autonomy. This is the heart of self-sovereign identity, a term that’s coming into increased. Rather than just advocating that users be at the center of the identity process, self-sovereign identity requires that users be the rulers of their own identity.
